Amy Ashley’s performance career has been an expansive blend of collaborative projects, freelance work, and company contracts, spanning regional musical theater, independent film, and concert dance. From Portland OR and San Francisco to New York City and world tours, she has performed works by the likes of Gregory Dawson, Maurya Kerr, Sidra Bell, Bob Fosse, Jose Limón, and Tracey Durbin. In NYC she has performed and toured internationally with Ariel Rivka Dance and Kathryn Alter & Dancers, and has presented her own work at Arts on Site, Green Space, and Dixon Place.
Amy’s career as a dance educator spans over more than a decade, teaching ballet, modern, and contemporary to all levels in year-round programs, workshops, and summer programs at Mark Morris Dance Center, Corlears School, The Dalton School, and Ballet Hispánico, and at regional and international studios and schools while on tour. She is the founding educator and program developer of the Ariel Rivka Dance Education Program, leading it from 2020-2024, and has been on faculty at the Mark Morris Dance Center since 2021.
Amy freelances and choreographs in NYC and New Jersey, and is under the mentorships of Tracey Durbin and Linda Celeste Sims.
